A space to explore your wellbeing
How Individual Therapy Can Help
Individual therapy offers a confidential space where you can slow down, reflect, and make sense of what you’re experiencing. Many people seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward.
Working with a trained professional can help you:
• Understand the roots of difficult feelings or patterns
• Develop healthier ways of coping with stress, anxiety, or low mood
• Explore how past experiences may be influencing your present
• Build confidence, self‑awareness, and emotional resilience
• Make meaningful changes in behaviour, relationships, or thinking styles.
Therapy can be exploratory, helping you gain deeper insight into yourself, or goal‑focused, supporting you to work on specific challenges. Often, it becomes a blend of both — offering space for reflection alongside practical tools for change
CBT and Other Therapeutic Approaches
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a collaborative, structured, and problem‑focused approach. It explores how your interpretation of events—your thoughts, beliefs, and assumptions—influences the way you feel and behave.
Together, we look at the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work towards developing more balanced and helpful ways of responding.
CBT often involves identifying unhelpful beliefs about yourself or the world and learning how to challenge and reframe them. You will be encouraged to set clear, meaningful goals based on what you’d like to change, and we will work step‑by‑step towards achieving them.

CBT and Other Therapeutic Approaches
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
This approach is collaborative and problem focused. When using this approach the focus is placed upon your appraisal (judgment) of events, and the link between your thoughts, emotions and behaviours. We may also focus on any unhelpful beliefs and assumptions that you have about yourself and aim to help you challenge them. You will be encouraged to identify specific goals related to what you’d like to change
What We Do In Therapy Sessions
Together, we will explore what you’re experiencing and decide which therapeutic approach may be most helpful at different stages of your work. My role is to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself by reflecting on your difficulties and the patterns that may be contributing to them.
Throughout our sessions, I will encourage you to consider alternative perspectives and experiment with new ways of responding to challenges. The aim is to help you build insight, flexibility, and confidence in managing your emotional world, both within therapy and in your everyday life.
